Join us at The King's School, Witney from 10:15 for coffee with worship at 10:30 most weeks there will be children and younger youth sessions. On the 31 August we'll have an all-age celebration.

On the 28 September we will begin our Autumn preaching series discovering together what it means to live a covenant life. How do we live and thrive together? What is our God of promise like? How do we love, serve and journey well together?

This Sunday we welcome @matsnorden as our guest preacher. Mats and Monica Norden are part of the @saltlightintl (Salt and lLight International) and European teams and now also lead the Swedish team. For many years they pioneered Citykirken Vastaras, the fourth largest city in Sweden. They are well respected for their Kingdom initiatives in that City, having developed a large successful School, financed by the State, and have also run several major initiatives for the homeless in partnership with the City Council.

Daphne's story: “Daphne faced immense financial strain while caring for her partner who has Parkinson’s disease. They struggled to make ends meet, maxing out credit cards and taking out high-interest loans to cover essentials. When Daphne’s partner moved into a care home, finances became even tighter.”

An evening of hope with refreshments, and an opportunity to hear from the CAP team about our Debt services, Life Skills and the CAP Money Courses.

Today we remember Jesus flooding an ancient Jewish festival with new meaning and life. He took the bread and broke it saying, "this is my body given for you." Then he took the cup and said, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood." Almost 2000 years ago Jesus told his followers to eat and drink in remembrance of him.

At the end of our week of 24/7 prayer read Isaiah 56:1-8 out loud. Ask God to remind you of things He has spoken. Write down the encouragements and the invitations He has given to you. Take time to ask if there is anything else He would like to prompt you to do or if there is any other inspiration or comfort He would like to bring. Pray for your friends and family and share with them anything that God speaks to you. Pray for patience to wait for God’s perfect timing and pray for perseverance and courage to take hold of the things God has blessed you with this week. Share anything prophetic or words of encouragement with your life group leaders and the leaders of the church.

Verse 8 of our passage concludes with a promise. The Sovereign Lord declares, “I will gather still others to them besides those already gathered.” We are praying for an awakening in our nation. That many will turn to Jesus. Pray that God will prepare our hearts and our church structures to be ready to receive all the people of all nations that He will gather to be part of our family. Pray for those who go and make disciples. Pray that you will more and more revere Christ as Lord and be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. (1 Peter 3:15-16). Pray for opportunity to witness to the goodness and faithfulness of God. Pray that God will gather in many to the kingdom through your witness and the witness of our church.

In a week of 24/7 prayer it is funny to have a day dedicated to praying about prayer. But it is vital that we don’t just spend some time praying this week but that we invite God to reset the culture of prayer in our lives personally and corporately. The disciples asked, “Lord teach us to pray”. They weren’t just asking for a prayer to say but for a structure for prayer. The words He gave (Matthew 6 + Luke 11) are wonderful and a launch pad to a thousand prayers but He also taught them by example. Pray that we might follow Jesus’ example of private, small group and large crowd praying. Humble, power-filled, sacrificial and glorious prayer. #witney #247prayer #afamilyofprayerforallnations #witneycommunitychurch

We are called to serve and to keep the sabbath (v6). This speaks of a rhythm to life that includes fulfilling work and activities of life or service. And it speaks of time dedicated to God alone – time that is holy (set aside for God). Take some time to prayerfully consider your rhythm of service and sabbath. Ask someone in your life group or a friend to hold you accountable – perhaps you need to volunteer to join a team at church or a group in the community to serve for the Glory of God. Perhaps you need to learn a rhythm of rest and worship for the Glory of God. Pray for those in positions of leadership in our communities and nation that they will find the rhythm of God for their lives and for their spheres of influence. #witney #247prayer #afamilyofprayerforallnations #pray #witneycommunitychurch
